Merry Christmas

Or whatever else you celebrate. And if you don't celebrate anything, have a good Monday.

The halls are decked but I'm in the middle of the Annual Christmas Family Meltdown. It ain't gonna be pretty. If I survive tomorrow (or even tonight) I'll be back with tales of merriment and outrage. And maybe some wool I've dyed.

If not, well, just remember: if you are organizing Xmas dinner and you've invited your whole family, one of whom is a six year old grandchild, telling her mother two days before the big day that you haven't bought toys this year isn't a good way to start the whole holiday off, mmkay?

note: clothes and anything "educational" are not presents when someone is six. give the kid toys and candy and shut up, thereby preventing the need for the mother to run screaming into the stores after her shopping is all done, inviting incipient bankruptcy and making her somewhat hate-filled.

that is all

Comments:
Happy Baconmas to everyone at Chez Rabbitch from Casa del Mousie Mouse... Hope all of your stockings are filled with Spam!
(*giggles hysterically and runs away screaming into the night knowing full well that this comment will force every other commenter after her to wonder.. "what the F**k is Baconmas?"*)

What is it about the 23rd? Meltdown at my house too. No children involved, thank dog.

Happy Xmoose, babe. May the power grid continue to hum, and the nearby trees stay upright. Pie is a cure for family if industrial strength nog is unwise. Blessings.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! and hoping the family stuff works out. Perhaps they will all be so beguiled by your beautiful daughter, that all will go well.

Merry Christmas; hope someone gets some brains fast and brings along at least ONE toy for the six year old. My 11 year old nephew YELLED tonight that he STILL HATES getting clothes for gifts!

Gift cards work, too, if folks can't figure out what toy to get. The above-mentioned nephew loved the $10 gift card to McDonalds ... go figure!

And remember, by Tuesday this insanity will all be over for another year.

Looking forward to your next post, heh.
Merry Merry happy happy

Happy Holidays, Dudette ;-)

Wishing you the best Christmas that you can manage. Oh, and sending some virtual eggnog your way, too.

I see that life is "normal" in other household, not just mine.

Happy X-moose!

Meltdown is a normal way of life. Isn't it? A very Merry Christmas to you and all those you love.

Merry Christmas, Rabbitch. I repeat the wish "May the power grid continue to hum and the nearby trees stay upright," and may all of you and yours have a good day and a good year.

There are worse things than clothes for Christmas, but may the children not have to learn that.

What happened to "Santa brings toy, relatives give clothes (and if you're lucky, it's NOT underwear)"???

Hang in there, honey! And Merry Christmas!

From everyone here at Hamster House, Merry, Merry, Happy, Happy, etc. etc. Hopefully the non-toy-giving-grand will not scar the little six year old too much. Clothing and Learning, BAH-HUMBUG!!

This is the first year in as long as I can remember that there was no Christmas meltdown (of course, the day is not over yet)!

Have a Merry Christmas, despite the meltdown (alcohol helps) :)
